Helping our Families is conducting a capital campaign to secure 1.5 million in funding to acquire a facility and provide operating capital for the organization. We anticipate raising the funds through donations, corporate sponsorships, foundations and grants. Helping our Families will be successful because of our solid business plan, well, thought-out strategic plan, an excellent planning and implementation team and the 100% commitment and determination of the Board of Directors.
The facility we intend to purchase is a home rurally located with plenty of land. The home will be occupied by up to four small single-mother families. We believe that having the families share space and responsibilities will contribute to their ability to become healthy families.
We plan to use the land to generate income by growing produce that can then be sold to grocery stores through a co-op. Additionally, the property will have out-buildings that can be used for storage and still have plenty of space to develop other industries as we help our residents to discover their entrepreneurial skills. Our goal is to be 40% self-supporting within the first 3 years of operation.
Helping Our Families, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Corporation established in 2018 in the state of Ohio. All contributions to HOF are tax deductible. Donors will receive a statement showing all contributions to the non-profit for the tax year the donation was provided.
